I as a physician and many more wrote to you in 2014 to be sure that you understand Israel as a country and their neighbors. After that, for 6 years you refrained from antisemitic attacks, now I guess you are back at it.
In the present Palestinian leaders claim that women’s rights equal rights to murder Israelis as per PLO leader, Jabril Rajoub. Today, Hamas sent rockets into Beersheva at exactly the place where Prime Minister Netanyahu was. Again, we hear of another horrific action of Hamas.
Certainly, ominous words which are echoed by most “Palestinian” leaders and Hamas representatives are nothing new.
The problem is that the Lancet, a medical British Journal/pamphlet, nonetheless has decided to again advocate on behalf of the Gazans and West Bankers. In this case, it is in regards to the distribution of the Covid vaccine which Israel has offered to most of its’ citizens, independently of creed or religion. Israel has also vaccinated workers from their neighboring areas, e.g around 200,000 in the West Bank.
While Israel has no reason to vaccinate these people who are always attacking them with rockets, let it be known, that they do it for a humanitarian reason.
You may ask why they have no vaccines of their own. Apparently, the monies in the millions that Qatar or Germany or EU send them each year get spent by theft or paying off hired murderers of Israelis.
A topic for Lancet could possibly explore could be the psychological dementia of these criminals. For your readers, it would make a great article.
The other area that the Lancet could focus on is the medical advances from Israel. If they were to have a partner in the West Bank, they would be able to participate in the development of the ew medical discoveries.
Do you know about Israel’s creation of synthetic corneas and their significance? What about a vaccine in progress to protect us from Alzheimer’s and Stroke? How about a blood test to detect Cancer of the Colon and hundreds more?
As a medical journal, where is the appreciation also for the emergency aide provided by Israel when other countries suffer a natural disaster?:
Brazil 2019, after a dam collapsed.
Kerala, India 2019
Madagascar 2017,
U.S. Hurricane Harvey 2017 assistance to victims
Syrian victims of the goverment massacre
Covid treatment to Erakat.
This are only some miniscule examples of what Israel has done outright and with immediate response to help the world.
I ask readers to read what Lancet’s editor has to say. It will help you understand how disturbing are his articles to me at least. Editor Horton has repeatedly declared his conviction that science be used “as a political instrument for advocacy,” and he was a key player in the formation of the highly politicized Lancet-Palestinian Health Alliance (LPHA). Can he be an unbiased editor? I think not.
How about instead writing about the well-deserved respect and acknowledgment for Israel’s medical innovations?
