Carolina Raquel Duer, a 33-year-old Argentinean Jew from Buenos Aires and known in boxing circles as “The Turk”, defended her super flyweight champion title for the fifth time on Saturday, July 7th by defeating European champion Corina Carlescu.
Duer was declared the winner by “TKO” (technical knockout) in the fifth round after she had knocked down Carlescu in the fourth round.
