It may be almost four decades late, but Jewish pop singer and ‘American Idol’ judge, Paula Abdul, is planning to have a Bat Mitzvah in Israel on Monday.
Abdul will be arriving in Israel as a guest of the Tourism Ministry, and intends to “finally realize her dream of celebrating her bat mitzvah” at the Western Wall in Jerusalem, according to Times of Israel.
The ‘Straight Up’ singer was born to Reform Jewish parents, and recently took part in a Chabad fundraiser in Toronto. During her time in Israel, which reportedly marks her first-ever to the country, Abdul is expected to tour major sites in Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, and the Galilee. She also plans to meet with President Shimon Peres and Tourism Minister, Uzi Landau.
