If you are fans of The Gefilteria (like we are) then you will be pretty excited to learn that Jeffrey Yoskowitz and Liz Alpern have written their first cookbook: The Gefilte Manifesto, with a big ‘ol stuffed fish right on the cover.
Haven’t heard of these guys? Well, a few years ago they launched The Gefilteria, seeking to infuse some new world sensibilities and flavors into old world Ashkenazi foods that could use a facelift, like their namesake, gefilte fish, a variety of pickles and even kvass (a Russian fermented drink). Their cookbook will bring that same mindset to a wider section of foods including several flavors of challah, home cured corned beef and a sweet noodle kugel with plums, just to name a few.
The book hasn’t been released quite yet, but you can pre-order it on Amazon. We can’t wait to get our hands on it, so in the meantime we’ll be drooling. And waiting.
