The joint liquidators for Stanford International Bank Limited, Nigel Hamilton-Smith and Peter Wastell, Client Partners at Vantis Business Recovery Services, a division of Vantis, the UK accounting, tax and business advisory group, have announced plans to launch an online claims validation system for creditors.

Commenting, Nigel Hamilton Smith said: “We will be writing to all creditors in May 2009, advising how best to submit claims and explaining how our process for handling claims will work. Central to this, will be the introduction of an online claims management system, which we anticipate to have in place by 30 June 2009.

The online claims system will ensure that all holders of Certificates of Deposits will receive electronic confirmation that their claim has been recorded and registered. Any holders not able to submit claims electronically, will be advised of how to submit claims via a postal system.

Depositors should be assured that each claim will be treated in the same way and will rank equally for distribution. Depositors who have hold mail accounts and wish to retain that status will have to appoint a lawyer or other suitable representative to receive communications on their behalf.”

Further communications will be issued when practicable.
